Taylor Swift ‘likes’ shady Instagram post of ex Joe Alwyn as dead Hunger Games tribute after release of breakup album The Tortured Poets Department
Taylor Swift approved of a joke made at her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn‘s expense while scrolling on Instagram after detailing the painful end of their six-year relationship on The Tortured Poets Department.
On Friday morning, the pop star, 34, surprised fans by ‘liking’ a shady meme that showed a Photoshopped image of the British actor, 33, in a scene from the Hunger Games with his face projected into the sky with the label ‘District BS,’ indicating he had died.
Text above the picture read ‘every time we get a new lyric the Hunger Games cannon goes off,’ which was a crack at how her songs eviscerate her former lovers.
I CANT BELIEVE TAYLOR LIKED THIS… SHE IS COMING FOR JOE,’ one fan wrote under the post, which featured various other memes.

Another commented: ‘Taylor liked this post and I’m here for it.’
‘Taylor liking actually has me so weak HAHAHAHA,’ a third mused.
Since the quip about Alwyn was the very meme in the slideshow, some speculated that she may not have seen the diss.
The first slide, shared by the Instagram account, Betches, read: ‘Decoding Taylor Swift easter eggs feels like working 2 jobs, training for a marathon, dating a man who is emotionally unstable, and clocking in the overnight shift at the FBI all at one.’
After releasing her new album at midnight ET (2am UK time), Swift took to Instagram to announce her latest record was actually a surprise ‘double album,’ after sparking a flurry of speculation by posting a countdown clock on social media.
And many believe that she alluded to Alwyn cheating on her in the song, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, prompting her fans to unleash their fury at the actor.
The 14-time Grammy winner was in a relationship with the Conversations with Friends star for six years before their shock split in early 2023.
In the song, she belts out: ‘And you’ll confess why you did it… And I’ll say good riddance. Cos it wasn’t sexy once it wasn’t forbidden.

‘You didn’t measure up in any measure of a man. I would have died for your sins but instead I just died inside. You deserve prison, but you won’t get time. You will slide into inboxes and slip through the bars.’
She also jibes: ‘In plain sight you hid but you are what you did. And I’ll forget you, but I’ll never forgive the smallest man who ever lived.’
In the fourth track, Swift admits to breaking down ‘crying at the gym’ and how the end of hers and Joe’s six-year relationship left her feeling ‘hollow.’
She sings: ‘Did you take all my old clothes just to leave me here naked and alone/ In a field in my same old town that somehow seems so hollow now’
Swift later accuses the past lover of abandoning her. ‘ How dare you think it’s romantic/ Leaving me safe and stranded.’
Enraged fans queried the lyrics and added to the cheating speculation.

Fans are also convinced the title of her album is a savage nod to the group chat that Alwyn shared with pals Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott.
