BREAKING: New Report Reveals Exactly How Long The Kansas City Chiefs Are Expecting Superstar WR Rashee Rice To Be Suspended For*
The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly expect superstar wide receiver Rashee Rice to miss a significant portion of the upcoming 2024 NFL season.
More than a month after he helped the Chiefs to a Super Bowl 58 championship, Rashee Rice was involved in a six-car accident in Dallas, Texas on Mar. 30. Four people were injured in the crash, and two of them were hospitalized for minor injuries.
Speaking with colleague Steve Smith Sr., NFL Network’s James Palmer reported that Kansas City expects Rice to be suspended for “at least” half of the 2024 regular season.
Last month, Rice turned himself over to police after an arrest warrant was issued. Rice faces eight charges for his involvement in the accident, including six counts of collision involving injury.
According to police, Rice was driving 119 MPH in a Lamborghini Urus that had been leased to him from a luxurious car rental company in Dallas. Rice’s friend, SMU football player Theodore Knox, was the driver of a Corvette that was involved in the accident.
Rice was one of the top rookies of 2023, recording 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. In four postseason games, Rice added 26 receptions for 262 yards and one touchdown.
Chiefs Are Well-Equipped To Get By During Rashee Rice’s Absence
Rice was the only reliable and consistent wide receiver in Kansas City last season. Fortunately for Patrick Mahomes and company, GM Brett Veach made two big-time moves to ensure the offense won’t miss a beat without Rice.
The Chiefs signed former 1,000-yard receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to a one-year deal in free agency. Then at last week’s NFL Draft, they traded up into the No. 28 spot via the Buffalo Bills to snag Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy.
Throw in superstar tight end Travis Kelce and potential 1,000-yard rusher Isiah Pacheco, and Kansas City is comfortably suited to survive on offense until Rice returns.
