Tyreek Hill shared how Patrick Mahomes humbled him with a fiery speech to the Chiefs receivers
For as much as people marvel about Patrick Mahomes’ play on the field, he has also proven to be one of the elite leaders in the NFL. That’s how he has earned the respect of his entire locker room.
He can also dish out some tough love. Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill knows all about that.
In a recent appearance on The Pivot podcast, Hill recalled how Mahomes was so fed up with his receivers’ effort one season that he called out each of them individually. (Warning: NSFW language in the video).
He apparently told Hill:
“You think you’re so (expletive) fast, but you can’t catch the (expletive) ball.”
That kind of directness caught Hill’s attention, and it certainly got the entire offense on the same page. Fans also enjoyed that story from the former Chiefs wide receiver. It also probably meant that this past season’s receiving unit was hearing it behind the scenes.
