Sabrina Carpenter slammed by ‘disappointed’ Taylor Swift fans for teaming up with tourmate’s ‘hated ex’ for SNL debut

SINGER Sabrina Carpenter has been slammed by Taylor Swift fans due to her latest career move.

On Thursday, Saturday Night Live announced the final hosts and musical guests for Season 49.

On May 18, the late-night comedy series announced Sabrina, 24, as the performer of the evening with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, 43, as the host.

This will be Sabrina’s first time performing on SNL and Jake’s third time hosting.

When the guests were revealed, Taylor’s, 34, fans, known as the Swifties, made jokes about the duo.

JAKE AND TAY’S RELATIONSHIP
Taylor and Jake briefly dated from late 2010 to early 2011.

At the time, Taylor was 20 and Jake was 29.

It is believed that many songs off her 2012 album Red were about her relationship with the Roadhouse actor including We Are Never Getting Back Together and All Too Well.

In 2021, Taylor released her re-recording of Red, which featured a 10-minute-version of All Too Well.

SABRINA AND TAYLOR’S FRIENDSHIP
Last year, Taylor revealed that Sabrina would be opening up for the pop music sensation during a leg of her popular Eras World Tour.

Sabrina performed in front of thousands in Latin America, Asia, and Australia.

Sabrina started on August 24 and finished her tour with Taylor on March 9.

Sabrina even sang a duet with Taylor on stage.

Before she began touring with the Blank Space hitmaker, Sabrina revealed what a huge fan she was of Taylor and that she first met her when she was 17.

“It was very much a childhood dream come true,” she revealed to Who What Wear.
